MAKE A TASK LIST
There’s so much going on over Christmas that it can help to write a to-do list. Try adding one to the notes on your phone – that way, it’s always handy. You’ll feel so much better as you tick each task off one by one.
DELEGATE!
Why do you think Santa has his elves? Because he can’t do it all by himself. Share out tasks throughout colleagues, friends and family. Whether it’s a work task, hosting, organising events, food shopping, pressie buying or housework… sharing is caring.
CARVE OUT ME-TIME (NOT JUST THE TURKEY)
Christmas can be an intense time of spending LOTS of time with family. So, make sure you take time away for yourself. Whether it’s a walk, a pampering bubble bath, a yoga session or an hour with a good book – silence is golden!OUT. OF. OFFICE.
Manage your work colleague’s expectations on the lead up to your festive break so that when your laptop shuts, you can TRULY switch off and enjoy the festivities without worry.
IT’S OK TO SAY NO
It can be hard to say no when there’s a million events going on at once – but remember, the choices you make are meant to enhance your fun, not add stress. So, choose the things that make you happiest – and if budget’s an issue, just figure out what you can afford and prioritise.
TAKE A STEP BACK
The quest for perfection can often take over – searching for the perfect gifts and the perfect decorations, but the magic of Christmas is simply being together with loved ones. Try taking a deep breath and giving a loved one a hug – simple but very effective.
DEVICE DETOX
It’s easy to compare your festivities to others on social media, which can add to your stress. Why not turn off the phones and have some quality time on the big day? Try playing a board game, doing some crafts or heading out on a family walk. And… breathe!
Here’s to an ABSOLUTELY stress-free Christmas. You deserve it!
